The open, five-petalled blooms appear over a long flowering period and bring a relaxed, old-fashioned feel to cottage gardens, wildflower plantings and perennial borders.

Growing into a bushy clump, Musk Mallow is attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects and makes a lovely addition to wildlife-friendly gardens. The flowers and young leaves are also edible, with the leaves having the mild, mucilaginous quality characteristic of plants in the mallow family.

Easy to grow and relatively low maintenance once established, plants prefer full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil.
