The skin changes dramatically as the fruit ripens, developing from dark green to warm orange, while inside is sweet, juicy yellowish-white flesh.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAn early-maturing variety with excellent fresh-eating quality, the fragrant flesh is best enjoyed chilled, sliced straight from the fruit or added to summer fruit salads.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAlso known as Collective Farm Woman or \u003cem\u003eKolkhoznitsa\u003c\/em\u003e, this historic Eastern European melon became particularly popular in Ukraine and Crimea on the Black Sea.
