D. Hale, Hales Best became commercially popular during the 1920s. It was valued for its excellent flavour, relatively early maturity and dependable production, and remains a widely grown heirloom today.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePlants are vigorous and productive with useful resistance to powdery mildew.
