Fast growing and highly productive, Daikon is one of the easiest and most rewarding varieties for home sprouting, providing fresh greens in less than a week.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe tender green shoots are naturally rich in vitamins, minerals and plant compounds, including the glucosinolates characteristic of brassica vegetables. Radish sprouts have attracted particular research interest for their naturally occurring glucosinolates and their breakdown products. Rinse with fresh water and drain well 2–3 times each day until the sprouts reach the desired size. Good drainage and airflow are important, as sprouts should remain moist but never sit in water.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAs the sprouts develop, remove loose seed hulls by rinsing and skimming them from the surface. Once harvested, rinse and drain thoroughly before refrigerating.
