Growing up to approximately 1.5 m tall, mature flower heads can reach 15 cm across, creating a bold architectural display through perennial borders, cottage gardens and cutting gardens.

The long, sturdy stems and substantial flower heads are excellent for floral arrangements, with an impressive vase life. They also dry beautifully, retaining much of their shape and colour for everlasting arrangements. The flowers attract bees, butterflies and other beneficial insects throughout their long flowering season.

A hardy member of the Asteraceae family, Golden Yarrow thrives in full sun and well-drained soil and becomes particularly tolerant of heat and dry conditions once established. Plants gradually form spreading clumps without generally becoming as aggressive as some other Yarrows and are easily propagated by division.

Achillea filipendulina also has a history of traditional herbal use, particularly in its native range through Central and Western Asia.
