Introduced to Italy in the 1600s—where it's closely related to the Borlotti, this bush bean is loved for its plump cream-coloured seeds splashed with deep burgundy. With a rich, nutty flavour and smooth texture, it shines in soups, stews, and slow-cooked dishes. Grown for shelling fresh or drying for storage, it’s as practical as it is beautiful. Classified as a bush but appreciates some support to gently climb.
