Forage brassica has been found by CSIRO to be a useful organic control of nematodes. It reduces soil pathogens like fungi and is said to reduce weed regrowth. Use as a green manure crop before nematode susceptible crops like carrot, onion and cereals. Effects are produced as the brassica decomposes after being dug in. Allow to regrow for a few weeks or simply slash it and let it regrow. Replant every two years or include in green manure mixes suited to temperate climates. Grows up to 20cm. 1kg covers 1000sqm.
