Murringo Seeds

(Lupinus alba)

A legume related to soy and peanut. The largest pulse crop grown in Australia. Commonly grown for stockfeed purposes, having a high protein content. Seed is also edible and used as a replacement for wheat and other grain for milling into flour, flaked etc. Lupin are fast growing, best suited to medium to high rainfall areas and best sown April - May. When in bloom, Lupin Murringo hosts a pleasing white flower. This plant will cross-pollinate with other Albus varieties, so ensure a 1km radius exclusion zone when establishing growing area.
