Light yellow flesh, mild sweet flavour similar to button squash, white skin with pale yellow background, pear shaped with bent neck 9 to 13 kg, favourite for boiling, baking and pies. Heat tolerant trailing vine, fruit stores well. May have been available before 1860's. Originates from southern Mexico. 85 to 110 days.
Summer vine, originating from the America. Fruit kept for winter eating. For seed saving it is best to grow only one variety within 2km. Can save seeds from ripe fruit when eating. Likes rich soil. Harvest as vine dies off and stem dries out. Sow after last frost.
