Matthiola incana
Dwarf Ten Week Mix is a compact, strongly fragrant Stock producing upright columns of brilliant flowers in shades of pink, red, yellow, cream, lilac, apricot and white. Growing to approximately 40 cm tall, the mixture includes both single and beautifully full double blooms.
A fast-flowering strain, Ten Week Stock can produce flowers in around half the time of many traditional full-sized varieties when grown in suitable conditions. The wonderfully scented blooms and sturdy stems make an excellent cut flower, while the compact plants are ideal for cottage gardens, borders, containers and mass plantings.
Stock thrives in cool conditions with full sun and fertile, well-drained, neutral to slightly alkaline soil. An ideal germination temperature is approximately 18–24°C.

Planting / Sowing
Sow directly or raise in trays, covering seed lightly with soil or seed-raising mix. Keep consistently moist during germination but avoid waterlogging.
Transplant or thin seedlings to approximately 20–25 cm apart in a sunny position with well-drained soil. Regular picking or removal of spent flower spikes will help maintain a long and attractive display.

Mammoth Excelsior is a tall, impressive Stock producing strong, non-branching columns densely covered in beautifully fragrant flowers. The mixture includes shades of pink, red, yellow, cream, lilac, apricot and white, with both single and semi-double blooms creating a wonderfully varied display.
Growing approximately 60–90 cm tall, the long, upright stems make Mammoth Excelsior an excellent cut flower, prized for both its colour and rich perfume. It is particularly well suited to cottage gardens, borders and dedicated cutting gardens, flowering in approximately 12–14 weeks under suitable conditions.

Malcolmia maritima
Virginian Mixed Stock is a charming, fast-growing annual producing masses of dainty, highly fragrant flowers in soft pastel shades of pink, mauve, lavender and white. Growing to approximately 30 cm tall, the compact plants create a pretty, informal display and are particularly lovely planted where their sweet fragrance can be enjoyed.
Quick to mature and easy to grow, Virginian Stock is ideal for borders, edging, cottage gardens, containers and children’s gardens. It is a wonderfully uncomplicated flower for beginner gardeners and can be succession sown to provide repeated flushes of colour and fragrance.
Hardy and adaptable to most soils, plants perform well in full sun but will tolerate partial shade. Virginian Stock is best sown directly where it is to flower and requires relatively little attention once established.
