Unit price perPlatycodon grandiflorus
A long lived perennial producing distinctive blue flowers that swell like small balloons before opening into star shaped blooms. Valued both ornamentally and medicinally, Platycodon has an important place in East Asian herbal traditions, where the root is commonly used in cough remedies. Young foliage has also been used fresh in salads. Plants form tidy clumps and flower reliably once established, making them well suited to borders, cottage gardens, and herb beds.

Planting / Sowing
Sow seed onto the surface of moist, well drained soil and press in lightly, as light aids germination. Best sown in cool conditions. Keep soil consistently moist during germination, which can be slow and irregular. Grow in full sun to part shade in fertile, free draining soil. Space plants 30 to 40 cm apart. Avoid disturbing roots once established, as plants dislike transplanting.
Due to quarantine restrictions, TAS has an 800g limit per each seed variety and WA has a 10,000 seeds limit per variety.

Flower seeds: As fellow gardening enthusiasts we share the love for planting and nurturing our own flowers in addition to our veggie gardens. Our carefully selected range of flower seeds, available for convenient online purchase, holds a special place in our hearts. Like the endangered vegetables we've championed, these flower varieties face the risk of vanishing forever. Some of these older strains are incredibly rare, and it's a source of immense pride for us to offer and deliver these precious flower seeds Australia-wide.
