Symphyotrichum novae-angliae

A striking North American perennial aster producing masses of deep violet flowers in late summer and autumn. Tall and showy in habit, it creates an impressive display in borders and meadow style plantings and is highly attractive to pollinators. This species was traditionally used medicinally by Native American cultures. Hardy and long lived, it performs best in full sun with well drained soil and regular moisture during establishment.
