Italian Large Leaf
The classic Italian basil and the traditional choice for pesto. ‘Genovese’ produces large, dark green leaves with a rich, spicy fragrance and full basil flavour. Plants form a bushy habit, growing approximately 60 to 90 cm tall, and respond well to regular harvesting. A variety of sweet basil, it is equally suited to garden beds and large pots and thrives in warm, sunny conditions.

Tropics: March to August
Subtropics: September to March
Mild climates: October to March
Cold climates: November to February
Planting / Sowing
Sow seed shallowly into well drained soil in a warm, sunny position once frost risk has passed. Keep soil evenly moist during germination. Space plants 30 to 40 cm apart. Regular harvesting encourages bushy growth and helps delay flowering.
Due to quarantine restrictions, TAS has an 800g limit per each seed variety and WA has a 10,000 seeds limit per variety.
