Eschscholzia californica

A delightful and colourful blend of cream, yellow, peach, crimson and tangerine blooms in a mix of single and semi-double forms. Flowering profusely over many months, Mission Bells creates a cheerful display of soft and vibrant tones that brighten garden beds, borders, rockeries and cottage gardens alike.

The finely divided silvery-grey foliage provides an attractive backdrop to the flowers and remains ornamental even when plants are not in bloom. Compact in habit, growing to approximately 30cm tall, this variety is ideal for smaller spaces, edging plantings and containers. Once established, plants readily self-sow and often return year after year, bringing effortless colour to the garden. Hardy, drought tolerant and heat tolerant, Mission Bells thrives in challenging conditions and attracts bees and other beneficial insects.

Approximately 200 seeds per packet

When to Plant (Australia)
Tropics: Autumn to winter
Subtropics: Autumn to spring
Mild climates: Autumn, winter and spring
Cold climates: Spring and early summer

Planting / Sowing
For best results, sow seed directly where plants are to grow and lightly press onto the soil surface. Avoid disturbing roots, as California Poppies prefer not to be transplanted. Position in full sun and well-drained soil. Keep moist during germination, then water only as required. Plants thrive in poor soils and are highly drought tolerant once established. Approximately 8–12 weeks to flowering.

Due to quarantine restrictions, TAS has an 800g limit per each seed variety and WA has a 10,000 seeds limit per variety.
