Zea mays

Painted Mountain is a stunning heirloom flour corn bred for resilience in harsh climates and poor soils. Fast maturing and highly adaptable, it produces an extraordinary range of colourful cobs in shades of red, blue, gold, cream, and burgundy, with no two cobs exactly alike. Harvest young for tender, colourful sweet corn, or allow the cobs to fully mature and dry for grinding into rich, flavourful flour or cornmeal. A hardy, productive variety that combines ornamental beauty with outstanding culinary value.

Approximately 25 seeds per packet

When to Plant (Australia)
Tropics: April to August
Subtropics: September to January
Mild climates: Spring to early summer
Cold climates: After the last frost

Planting / Sowing
Sow seed directly into well drained, fertile soil in full sun once the soil has warmed. Plant seeds 2–3 cm deep, spacing plants 20–30 cm apart in blocks rather than single rows to ensure good pollination. Keep plants well watered during flowering and cob development. Harvest early for fresh eating or allow cobs to dry completely on the plant for flour or meal.

Certified Organic

Due to quarantine restrictions, TAS has an 800g limit per each seed variety.
