Wapsipinicon Peach is an unusual heirloom tomato producing round, pale yellow fruits to approximately 40 mm across. The fruits are covered in a distinctive tough, fuzzy skin reminiscent of a peach, with a smooth texture and exceptionally good flavour.
This American heirloom was named after the Wapsipinicon River in Iowa and was introduced to the wider seed-saving community through Seed Savers Exchange. Its combination of fuzzy skin, soft yellow colouring and excellent flavour has made it an enduring curiosity among heirloom tomato growers.
Plants are vigorous and indeterminate, producing plentiful small fruits over an extended season. The sweet, flavourful tomatoes are particularly good eaten fresh, in salads and on platters, where their unusual appearance makes them stand out.
Seed count: approximately 250–400 seeds per gram. Approximately 40 seeds per packet.
