Brassica rapa subsp. chinensis

Taisai is a productive, non-heading Chinese cabbage growing 20–30 cm tall with broad white stems and tender green leaves. The crisp stems and mildly pungent leaves are excellent in stir-fries, soups, and fresh salads. This compact variety is slow to bolt and can be harvested repeatedly by picking the outer leaves, much like silverbeet, or harvested whole when young. A hardy cool-season crop maturing in around 60 days.

Approximately 50 seeds per packet

When to Plant (Australia)
Tropics: April to August
Subtropics: March to September
Mild climates: Autumn and spring
Cold climates: Spring and autumn

Planting / Sowing
Sow seed directly into well drained, fertile soil in full sun or partial shade. Plant seeds 5 mm deep and thin seedlings to 20–30 cm apart. Keep soil consistently moist to encourage rapid growth. Harvest individual outer leaves as required or cut the entire plant when fully developed.

Certified Organic

Due to quarantine restrictions, TAS has an 800g limit per each seed variety and WA has a 10,000 seeds limit per variety.
