Brassica rapa subsp. chinensis

Pak Choi 'Kwang Moon White Stem' is a fast-growing Chinese cabbage variety producing crisp white stems and open, leafy green foliage. This productive selection is valued for its tender texture, mild flavour and ability to provide harvests over an extended period.

The succulent white stems and nutritious leaves are rich in vitamins A, B and C and can be enjoyed both raw and cooked. Young leaves add freshness and crunch to salads, while mature plants are excellent in stir-fries, soups, steamed dishes and other cooked vegetable recipes. Plants can be harvested whole or picked leaf by leaf for a continual supply.

Quick to mature and easy to grow, Kwang Moon White Stem performs well in cool conditions and rewards gardeners with reliable harvests from autumn through spring. Its vigorous growth and extended picking period make it a valuable addition to productive kitchen gardens.

Planting / Sowing

Sow seed 5 mm deep directly into prepared garden beds or into seedling trays for transplanting. Space plants 20–30 cm apart in rows 30 cm apart. Sow successively every few weeks to maintain a continuous harvest.

Grow in full sun to partial shade in fertile, well-drained soil enriched with compost. Keep soil consistently moist and harvest plants from 45–60 days after sowing. Pick outer leaves regularly or harvest entire plants when they reach the desired size.

Due to quarantine restrictions, TAS has an 800g limit per each seed variety and WA has a 10,000 seeds limit per variety.
