Trigonella foenum-graecum

Fenugreek is a fast-growing annual herb that produces nutritious baby leaves, microgreens and sprouts with a distinctive mild curry-like flavour. Widely used throughout Indian, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisines, the young shoots add a fresh, slightly nutty taste to salads, sandwiches, wraps and stir-fries. Sprouts are best used sparingly, where their aromatic flavour complements rather than overwhelms other ingredients.

Rich in vitamins, minerals and naturally occurring plant compounds, fenugreek has been cultivated for thousands of years as both a culinary and traditional medicinal herb. The young greens are quick and easy to grow indoors year-round, making them an excellent choice for home sprouting and microgreen production.

Approximately 210 seeds per gram

When to Plant (Australia)

Suitable for year-round indoor production.

Planting / Sowing

For microgreens, evenly scatter seed over a moist growing medium, press gently into the surface and lightly cover. Keep evenly moist in a bright position out of harsh direct sunlight. Harvest when the first true leaves begin to appear, usually after 10–14 days.

For sprouts, rinse seed thoroughly, soak for 6–8 hours, then drain. Rinse and drain twice daily until ready to harvest in 3–5 days. Use fresh and refrigerate after harvesting.

Due to quarantine restrictions, TAS has an 800g limit per each seed variety.
