Ocimum sanctum
A deeply aromatic and culturally significant basil distinguished by its dark purple to green purple leaves and purple flower spikes. Krishna Tulsi has a stronger, spicier, clove like flavour than Rama Tulsi and is traditionally grown around homes and temples in India. Highly regarded in Ayurvedic practice, it has long been used as a tonic herb associated with supporting the immune system, respiratory health, digestion, and the nervous system. Leaves can be used fresh in teas, added sparingly to salads, or used medicinally. Grown primarily for its therapeutic and spiritual value, it is also an attractive and aromatic garden plant.

Approximately 240 seeds per packet
Seed count: approximately 2600 seeds per gram

When to Plant (Australia)
Tropics: March to August
Subtropics: September to March
Mild climates: October to March
Cold climates: November to February

Planting / Sowing
Sow seed shallowly onto well drained soil in a warm, sunny position and press in lightly, as light aids germination. Keep soil evenly moist during germination. Space plants 30 to 40 cm apart. Suitable for garden beds or pots and can also be grown indoors in bright light. Regular tip pruning encourages bushy growth and continual leaf production.

Due to quarantine restrictions, TAS has an 800g limit per each seed variety and WA has a 10,000 seeds limit per variety.
