Black Chia is a highly nutritious annual grown for its tiny black seeds, valued for their versatility in both cooking and baking. When soaked, the seeds develop a natural gel that can be used as a thickener or egg substitute, helping increase fibre while reducing the need for added fats. Ideal for smoothies, yoghurt, puddings, salad dressings, dips, spreads, and baking, chia has a mild flavour that won't alter the taste of other ingredients. The attractive flowering plants are also popular with bees and other pollinators.
Approximately 12,000 seeds per packet

Planting / Sowing
Sow seed directly into well drained soil in full sun. Lightly press seeds into the soil or cover with no more than 2–3 mm of fine soil, as light aids germination. Keep the soil evenly moist until established. Harvest seed heads once they have dried completely on the plant.

Due to quarantine restrictions, TAS has an 800g limit per each seed variety and WA has a 10,000 seeds limit per variety.

FLOWER SEEDS WITH EDEN
Flower seeds: As fellow gardening enthusiasts we share the love for planting and nurturing our own flowers in addition to our veggie gardens. Our carefully selected range of flower seeds, available for convenient online purchase, holds a special place in our hearts. Like the endangered vegetables we've championed, these flower varieties face the risk of vanishing forever. Some of these older strains are incredibly rare, and it's a source of immense pride for us to offer and deliver these precious flower seeds Australia-wide.
