Lepidium sativum

Extra Curled Cress is one of the quickest and easiest microgreens to grow, producing finely curled, dark green leaves with a fresh, peppery flavour. Ready to harvest in as little as 7–14 days, it adds a crisp texture and mild spice to salads, sandwiches, soups and garnishes. Its attractive curled foliage also makes it popular with chefs for finishing dishes.

Perfect for year-round indoor production, Extra Curled Cress grows readily in shallow trays or small containers on a sunny windowsill. It performs best in cool conditions and is not well suited to outdoor cultivation during hot weather, when it quickly becomes coarse and runs to seed.

Approximately 450–550 seeds per gram

When to Plant (Australia)

Suitable for year-round indoor production.

Planting / Sowing

Evenly scatter seed over a moist microgreen growing medium or tray and gently press into the surface. Do not cover deeply, as cress germinates readily with light moisture. Keep evenly moist using a fine mist or by watering from below. Place in a bright position out of harsh direct sun and harvest with scissors when the first true leaves appear, usually within 7–14 days.

Due to quarantine restrictions, TAS has an 800g limit per each seed variety and WA has a 10,000 seeds limit per variety.
