Dahlia variabilis

Redskin Mixed is a compact Dahlia variety producing an eye-catching mixture of double flowers in rich shades of red and bronze. Growing approximately 35–60 cm tall, the dwarf, bushy plants provide abundant colour without the height of traditional Dahlias.

Well suited to pots and containers, Redskin Mixed is also an excellent choice for borders, cottage gardens and the front of flower beds. Plants flower generously through the warmer months, and regular picking or deadheading encourages a longer display.

Dahlias thrive in warm, sunny conditions with fertile, well-drained soil and regular moisture. Although perennial in suitable climates, seed-grown Dahlias are often treated as annuals, with plants developing tubers that can be lifted and stored in colder regions.

Seed count: approximately 140 seeds/g
Approximately 50 seeds per packet

When to Plant (Australia)

Tropics: Autumn to spring
Subtropics: Spring to summer
Mild climates: Spring to early summer
Cold climates: Spring after frost

Planting / Sowing

Sow into trays or pots approximately 5 mm deep and keep warm and moist during germination. Transplant once seedlings are established and all risk of frost has passed.

Space plants approximately 30–40 cm apart in full sun. For containers, use a good-quality, well-drained potting mix and water regularly during active growth and flowering.

Due to quarantine restrictions, TAS has an 800g limit per each seed variety and WA has a 10,000 seeds limit per variety.
