Salvia rosmarinus

Evergreen shrub to 60cm. Repels moths and flies, liked by bees. Companion to sage, cabbage, beans, and carrots. Sheltered position to north. Aromatic leaves, used as a culinary seasoning. Sow in trays with seeds on top of growing mix as light is needed to germinate. Mist to moisten and cover with plastic to keep moist. Perennial. Sow spring and autumn.

Approximately 750 seeds per gram
Approximately 40 seeds per packet

When to Plant (Australia)

Tropics: April to July
Subtropics: March to May and August to October
Mild climates: Spring and autumn
Cold climates: Spring to early summer

Planting / Sowing

Sow seed on the surface of a fine seed-raising mix, as light is required for germination. Do not cover the seed. Mist gently to keep the surface moist and cover the tray with a clear lid or plastic to maintain humidity until germination. Place in a warm, bright position out of direct afternoon sun. Transplant seedlings once large enough to handle into a sheltered, sunny position with well-drained soil. Once established, rosemary is drought tolerant and thrives in full sun.

Due to quarantine restrictions, TAS has an 800g limit per each seed variety and WA has a 10,000 seeds limit per variety.
