Antirrhinum majus

Tom Thumb Mixed is a charming dwarf Snapdragon producing masses of delicately scented flowers in a cheerful mixture of bright colours including pink, red, yellow, orange, white and bi-coloured shades. Growing to approximately 20 cm tall, the compact, bushy plants provide abundant colour without taking up much space.

Its dwarf habit makes Tom Thumb particularly well suited to pots, hanging baskets, borders, edging and the front of cottage garden beds. Despite its compact size, the flowers can be picked for small arrangements and have a good vase life. Blooms left in the garden are attractive to bees and other pollinating insects.

Snapdragons are short-lived perennials, although they are frequently grown as annuals or biennials. Plants perform best in full sun to partial shade with fertile, well-drained soil and will flower over a long period when regularly picked or deadheaded.

Approximately 3,000 seeds per packet

Subtropics: Autumn to spring

Cold climates: Late winter to spring

Planting / Sowing

Sow the fine seed onto the surface of moist seed-raising mix and press gently into place. Cover only very lightly, as light assists germination. Keep consistently moist during germination.

Transplant once seedlings are well established, spacing approximately 15–20 cm apart in full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. Regular picking or deadheading encourages further flowering.

Due to quarantine restrictions, TAS has an 800g limit per each seed variety and WA has a 10,000 seeds limit per variety.
