Delphinium consolida

Giant Imperial Mixed is a tall, elegant flowering variety producing long, upright spikes in a beautiful mixture of colours including blue, violet, lavender, pink and white. Growing up to approximately 1.5 m tall, the impressive flower spikes create height and drama through cottage gardens, borders and cutting gardens.

The long, straight stems make Giant Imperial particularly valuable as a cut flower, bringing both height and colour to fresh arrangements. Plants are most impressive when grown in groups, where the mixture of colours creates a striking garden display.

Delphiniums prefer cooler growing conditions, full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. Taller plants may benefit from support in exposed or windy positions.

Seed count: approximately 350 seeds/g
Approximately 80 seeds per packet

When to Plant (Australia)

Tropics: Autumn to winter
Subtropics: Autumn to winter
Mild climates: Autumn and spring
Cold climates: Spring or early autumn

Planting / Sowing

Sow into trays or directly where plants are to grow, covering seed lightly with soil or seed-raising mix. Keep cool and consistently moist during germination.

Transplant or thin seedlings to approximately 30–40 cm apart in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. Provide support as the tall flower spikes develop where necessary, and remove spent flowers to encourage further blooming.

Due to quarantine restrictions, TAS has an 800g limit per each seed variety and WA has a 10,000 seeds limit per variety.
