Gerbera jamesonii

Jamesonii Mixture is a colourful Gerbera producing large single and double daisy-like flowers in a vibrant range of colours. The bold blooms are held on long stems above neat rosettes of deep green foliage, creating an eye-catching display in garden beds, borders and containers.

Native to southern Africa, Gerberas are warm-climate perennials and are particularly valued as cut flowers, with their strong stems and large blooms making them excellent for bouquets and floral arrangements. Plants can flower over an extended period in suitable conditions, particularly when spent blooms are removed regularly.

Gerberas prefer full sun to light shade and fertile, well-drained soil. Good drainage is particularly important, as plants dislike remaining wet around the crown.

Seed count: approximately 300 seeds/g
Approximately 30 seeds per packet

When to Plant (Australia)

Tropics: Autumn to spring
Subtropics: Spring and autumn
Mild climates: Spring to early summer
Cold climates: Spring after frost

Planting / Sowing

Sow into trays or pots using a fine, well-drained seed-raising mix. Cover seed only lightly and keep warm and consistently moist during germination without waterlogging.

Transplant once seedlings are well established, spacing approximately 30–40 cm apart. Position plants so the crown remains at or slightly above soil level and avoid burying it when planting.

Due to quarantine restrictions, TAS has an 800g limit per each seed variety and WA has a 10,000 seeds limit per variety.
