Tropaeolum majus

Cherry Rose Nasturtium is a charming semi-dwarf bush variety producing an abundance of bright cherry-rose blooms held proudly above the foliage. Its compact, non-trailing habit makes it ideal for borders, containers, patio pots and smaller garden spaces where a neat, colourful display is desired throughout the growing season.

The vibrant flowers attract bees and other pollinators while adding a splash of colour to vegetable and ornamental gardens alike. Like all nasturtiums, the flowers and leaves are edible, offering a mildly peppery flavour that makes an attractive addition to salads, sandwiches and garnishes. Easy to grow and rewarding for gardeners of all skill levels, Cherry Rose performs well in a wide range of conditions and flowers over an extended period.

Nasturtiums are also valued as companion plants, helping attract beneficial insects and acting as a sacrificial crop for aphids, keeping pressure away from nearby vegetables.

When to Plant (Australia)

Tropics: April to August
Subtropics: March to September
Mild climates: March to October
Cold climates: September to January

Planting / Sowing

Sow seed directly into the garden 10–15 mm deep in a sunny to partly shaded position. Keep soil moist during germination. Space plants 25–30 cm apart. Nasturtiums prefer well-drained soil and generally produce more flowers in soils that are not overly rich. Remove spent flowers regularly to encourage continued blooming throughout the season.

Due to quarantine restrictions, TAS has an 800g limit per each seed variety and WA has a 10,000 seeds limit per variety.
