Erysimum cheiri

Tom Thumb Mixed is a compact, hardy Wallflower producing masses of sweetly fragrant flowers in a cheerful mixture of bright colours. The dwarf, bushy plants create a dense display through the cooler months and into spring, bringing both colour and wonderful perfume to the garden.

Its compact habit makes Tom Thumb particularly well suited to borders, edging, containers and the front of cottage garden beds. The nectar-rich flowers are highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects and are especially lovely planted near paths and entrances where their fragrance can be enjoyed.

A hardy biennial, Wallflower thrives in cool conditions and prefers full sun with fertile, well-drained soil. Regular deadheading helps extend the flowering season and keeps plants neat and productive.

Approximately 200 seeds per packet

When to Plant (Australia)

Tropics: Autumn in cooler locations
Subtropics: Late summer to autumn
Mild climates: Mid-summer to autumn
Cold climates: Summer to early autumn

Planting / Sowing

Sow directly or raise in trays, covering seed lightly with soil or seed-raising mix. Keep consistently moist during germination and establishment.

Transplant or thin seedlings to approximately 15–20 cm apart in full sun and well-drained soil. Regularly remove spent flower stems to encourage a longer flowering display.

Due to quarantine restrictions, TAS has an 800g limit per each seed variety and WA has a 10,000 seeds limit per variety.
