A hardy and cheerful annual producing masses of bright orange flowers, typically around 90mm across in mild climates. Long flowering and easy to grow, calendula thrives in full sun and provides months of colour in garden beds, borders and productive gardens. Plants readily self-sow, and the distinctive curled seeds are easy to collect and save for future seasons.
Calendula is the darling of the herbal medicine cabinet. If there is one flower every budding herbalist should know, this is probably it. The bright orange petals are traditionally infused into oils, balms and creams for all manner of skin complaints and have been used for generations to soothe and support the healing process. Taken as a tea, calendula has also long been appreciated for digestive and lymphatic support. Thankfully, it's as easy to grow as it is useful.

Planting / Sowing
Sow seed directly where plants are to grow or raise seedlings in trays for transplanting. Plant 1cm deep in well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Keep moist during germination and establishment. Space plants approximately 25–30cm apart. Regular harvesting of flowers or deadheading will encourage prolonged flowering. Plants readily self-seed if some flowers are allowed to mature.
Due to quarantine restrictions, TAS has an 800g limit per each seed variety and WA has a 10,000 seeds limit per variety.

Flower seeds: As fellow gardening enthusiasts we share the love for planting and nurturing our own flowers in addition to our veggie gardens. Our carefully selected range of flower seeds, available for convenient online purchase, holds a special place in our hearts.
