Allium tuberosum

A versatile perennial herb prized for its flat, strappy leaves and mild garlic flavour. Garlic Chives are a staple of kitchen gardens around the world, providing a continual harvest of fresh leaves that can be used anywhere a gentle garlic note is desired.

The leaves are delicious chopped into salads, stir-fries, soups, egg dishes and savoury baking. In late summer and autumn, plants produce attractive clusters of starry white flowers that are highly attractive to bees and other pollinators. Both the flowers and unopened flower buds are edible and make an attractive addition to salads and garnishes.

Easy to grow and long-lived, Garlic Chives form gradually expanding clumps that can be divided every few years to rejuvenate plants and create new plantings. Once established, they are remarkably hardy and productive.

Approximately 160 seeds per packet

Harvest leaves regularly to encourage fresh growth. Established clumps can be divided in autumn or early spring to maintain vigour and expand plantings.
