Salad Bowl Red is a colourful looseleaf lettuce producing deeply notched, wavy leaves in rich bronze, with the inner leaves developing attractive bronze-red tones. Similar to Salad Bowl Green, this fast-growing variety has a crisp texture, sweet flavour and is ideal for cut-and-come-again harvesting. Harvest young leaves for colourful salad mixes or allow plants to reach full size in approximately 45–68 days.

Tropics: April to August
Subtropics: March to October
Mild climates: February to November
Cold climates: Spring to autumn
Planting / Sowing
Sow seed directly or raise seedlings, covering very lightly with 2–3 mm of soil. Plant in fertile, well drained soil in full sun or part shade, spacing plants 20–30 cm apart. Keep the soil evenly moist and provide afternoon shade during warmer weather. Harvest outer leaves regularly to encourage continuous growth or allow plants to mature before cutting.
Due to quarantine restrictions, TAS has an 800g limit per each seed variety and WA has a 10,000 seeds limit per variety.
