Poterium sanguisorba subsp. minor

Burnet is a hardy perennial herb prized for its delicate, fern-like foliage and refreshing cucumber-like flavour. As a baby leaf or microgreen, Burnet adds a crisp texture and subtle freshness to salads, sandwiches, cold drinks and gourmet garnishes.

The young leaves are particularly tender and flavourful, making them ideal for harvesting at an early stage. Their distinctive taste has long made Burnet a favourite in traditional herb gardens and modern culinary applications alike. The attractive foliage also provides excellent visual appeal in mixed salad blends and microgreen trays.

Easy to grow and long-lived, Burnet performs well in a range of climates and can be harvested repeatedly. Once established, plants continue producing fresh growth for many months, making them a productive addition to kitchen gardens and specialty herb collections.

Planting / Sowing

For baby leaf production, sow seed thinly into prepared garden beds or containers and harvest young leaves as required. For microgreens, sow seed densely over a moist growing medium and lightly cover.

Keep evenly moist during germination and provide bright light once seedlings emerge. Harvest microgreens with scissors when the first true leaves begin to develop, or continue growing for larger baby leaf harvests.

Due to quarantine restrictions, TAS has an 800g limit per each seed variety and WA has a 10,000 seeds limit per variety.
