Ageratum houstonianum, Amaranthus caudatus, Aquilegia coerulea, Callistephus chinensis, Campanula medium, Cleome hassleriana, Cosmos bipinnatus, Cynoglossum amabile, Digitalis purpurea, Nigella damascena, Papaver spp., Rudbeckia hirta, Jacobaea maritima, Consolida orientalis, Zinnia elegans, Dahlia variabilis

Create the romantic, abundant feel of a traditional cottage garden with this colourful mixture of annual and perennial flowers. Combining different heights, forms, textures and flowering times, the mix creates an informal display that evolves throughout the season and brings plenty of colour and character to garden beds and borders.

The mixture usually includes Ageratum, Amaranth, Aquilegia, Aster, Canterbury Bells, Cleome, Cosmos, Forget-Me-Not, Foxglove, Nigella, Poppy, Rudbeckia, Larkspur, Zinnia, Dahlia and Cineraria, subject to seasonal availability.

Perfect for filling larger garden beds, creating colourful borders or establishing a relaxed, rambling flower patch. Allow some plants to self-seed and the garden can continue to change and surprise from season to season. The variety of flowers also provides valuable forage for bees, butterflies and other beneficial insects.

When to Plant (Australia)

Tropics: Autumn to winter
Subtropics: Autumn and early spring
Mild climates: Autumn and spring
Cold climates: Spring to early summer after frost

Planting / Sowing

Scatter seed over finely prepared, weed-free soil and lightly rake into the surface. As the mixture contains seeds of different sizes, avoid burying too deeply. Keep consistently moist during germination.

Grow in full sun to partial shade. Germination and flowering will occur progressively, as individual species develop at different rates. Allow plants to grow naturally together for the informal, layered appearance characteristic of a cottage garden.

Due to quarantine restrictions, WA has a 10,000 seeds limit per variety.
