Tomato Giant Syrian Seeds

Unit price perSolanum lycopersicum
Giant Syrian is a large heirloom tomato producing impressive red, heart-shaped fruits weighing up to approximately 400 g. The tomatoes have thick, meaty flesh with relatively few seeds and a good, rich tomato flavour.
Its substantial flesh and low seed content make Giant Syrian particularly good for slicing, sandwiches and salads, as well as sauces, passata and preserving. The heart-shaped fruits can vary somewhat in form, from broad hearts to more elongated, tapered shapes.
Plants are vigorous and indeterminate, continuing to flower and set their large fruits throughout the season. Strong staking or trellising is recommended to support the vines and weight of the developing crop.
Seed count: approximately 250–400 seeds per gram. Approximately 40 seeds per packet.

Planting / Sowing
Sow approximately 5 mm deep into seed-raising mix or directly where conditions are warm. In cooler climates, seed can be started indoors approximately five weeks before transplanting after the last frost. Best soil temperature for germination is approximately 16–35°C.
Space plants approximately 40–60 cm apart with 60–150 cm between rows. Grow in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil and provide sturdy staking or trellising for the climbing vines and large fruit. Water at soil level where possible and avoid waterlogged conditions.
Due to quarantine restrictions, TAS has an 800g limit per each seed variety
