Unit price perSolanum lycopersicum
Mana Lucie is a prolific tomato producing good-quality, round yellow fruits to approximately 40 mm across. The juicy, brightly coloured tomatoes have a pleasant flavour and are an excellent size for salads, fresh eating and colourful platters.
This Australian heirloom has a particularly interesting migrant history. The variety was brought to Rockhampton, Queensland, by Italian migrants during the 1930s and has been maintained through generations of cultivation and seed saving. It is a lovely example of the food plants and seed varieties that travelled with migrant families and became part of Australia's gardening heritage.
Plants are vigorous and productive, with good foliage cover helping protect the developing fruit from harsh sun. The variety also shows useful disease resistance and continues producing over an extended season when regularly harvested.
Seed count: approximately 250–400 seeds per gram. Approximately 40 seeds per packet.

Planting / Sowing
Sow approximately 5 mm deep into seed-raising mix or directly where conditions are warm. In cooler climates, seed can be started indoors approximately five weeks before transplanting after the last frost. Best soil temperature for germination is approximately 16–35°C.
Space plants approximately 40–60 cm apart with 60–150 cm between rows. Grow in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil and provide sturdy staking or trellising for the climbing vines. Water at soil level where possible and avoid waterlogged conditions.
Maturity: approximately 85 days.
Due to quarantine restrictions, TAS has an 800g limit per each seed variety and WA has a 10,000 seeds limit per variety.
