Unit price perAmaranthus blitum
A reliable, fast growing leafy green traditionally grown as a vegetable rather than an ornamental. Valued for its tender, mild flavoured leaves, Amaranthus blitum is well suited to regular cut and come again harvest and is commonly used as a spinach substitute, either fresh when young or lightly cooked. Plants form a lower, more spreading habit than ornamental amaranths and cope well with heat once established. Easy to grow in warm conditions, it is a productive, practical choice for kitchen gardens focused on yield and versatility rather than show.

Planting / Sowing
Sow directly into well drained soil in full sun once the weather has warmed. In warm areas, sow from early spring. In cooler areas, wait until late spring after frost risk has passed. Sow seed shallowly and keep moist until germination. Thin or space plants 20 to 30 cm apart for leaf harvest, or closer for ongoing cut and come again picking. Young leaves can be harvested as microgreens in 7 to 10 days, or as salad greens from around 16 to 25 days.
Due to quarantine restrictions, TAS has an 800g limit per each seed variety and WA has a 10,000 seeds limit per variety.

FLOWER SEEDS WITH EDEN
Flower seeds: As fellow gardening enthusiasts we share the love for planting and nurturing our own flowers in addition to our veggie gardens. Our carefully selected range of flower seeds, available for convenient online purchase, holds a special place in our hearts. Like the endangered vegetables we've championed, these flower varieties face the risk of vanishing forever. Some of these older strains are incredibly rare, and it's a source of immense pride for us to offer and deliver these precious flower seeds Australia-wide.
