Calendula officinalis

Sunset Mixed is a beautiful Calendula producing large, richly coloured flowers in warm sunset shades of apricot, peach, golden yellow, orange and deeper bronze tones. The varied colouring creates a glowing display through the cooler months and brings plenty of warmth to cottage gardens, borders, productive gardens and cutting beds.

Calendula is a hardy, easy-to-grow annual with a long flowering season. The blooms make excellent cut flowers and are highly attractive to bees and other beneficial insects. The petals are also edible and can be scattered through salads, used as a colourful garnish or dried for later use. Calendula has a long history as a traditional medicinal herb.

Plants thrive in full sun to partial shade and are tolerant of cool conditions and light frost. Regular picking or deadheading encourages continued flowering and plants will often self-seed when some mature flower heads are left in place.

Hardy annual, for beds, borders, pots, cut flower, full sun, friable fertile soil, sow after frost, autumn in warmer areas.
