Dianthus caryophyllus

A classic florist's favourite producing large, fully double blooms with beautifully fringed petals in a wide range of colours. Growing to approximately 60cm tall, Chabaud Mix is prized for its long stems, strong fragrance and exceptional performance as a cut flower, making it a staple of cottage gardens and cutting gardens alike.

Flowering in shades of pink, red, white, salmon, yellow and bi-colours, these elegant carnations bring months of colour to garden beds, borders and containers. The fragrant blooms are highly attractive to bees and other pollinators, while regular cutting encourages continuous flowering throughout the season. Their excellent vase life and old-fashioned charm have made Chabaud carnations a garden favourite for generations.

Planting / Sowing
Sow seed onto the surface of a quality seed-raising mix and lightly cover with a fine layer of soil or vermiculite. Keep moist but not waterlogged during germination. Position in a bright location and transplant seedlings once large enough to handle. Plant in full sun and well-drained soil, spacing plants approximately 25–30cm apart. Regular deadheading and harvesting of flowers will encourage prolonged blooming. Approximately 16–20 weeks to flowering.

Due to quarantine restrictions, TAS has an 800g limit per each seed variety and WA has a 10,000 seeds limit per variety.
