Biscia Rossa, meaning ‘Red Snake’, is an old Italian looseleaf lettuce with ruffled green leaves and striking bright red tips. It forms an open, rustic-looking rosette and is early to mature. The tender leaves can be harvested individually as a cut-and-come-again crop or left to develop before picking the entire head. Best suited to cool and temperate growing conditions.

Keep the soil evenly moist and provide afternoon shade during warmer weather. Harvest the outer leaves regularly or allow the full rosette to develop.
