Brassica juncea var. rugosa

Osaka Purple Mustard is a striking heirloom with large, rounded green leaves edged in deep purple and a mild, peppery flavour. Young leaves are excellent fresh in salads, while mature leaves become tender and mellow when lightly cooked in stir-fries, soups or steamed dishes. The edible flower buds and stems are also a delicious seasonal vegetable. Fast growing and highly productive, it is well suited to cool-season gardens and continuous harvesting.

Approximately 300 seeds per gram
Approximately 130 seeds per packet

Keep the soil evenly moist throughout growth. Harvest young leaves from around 25 days for salads or allow plants to mature for larger leaves, edible flower stems and buds. Ready to harvest in approximately 40 days.
