Limonium latifolium

Pink Pokers is an attractive perennial Statice producing upright spikes of delicate pink flowers reaching approximately 60 cm tall. The slender flowering stems rise above a low rosette of foliage, creating height and soft colour through garden beds and cutting gardens.

Particularly valued for floral work, the long-lasting flowers are excellent for both fresh and dried arrangements. When dried, the papery blooms retain their colour and form beautifully, making them useful for everlasting bouquets, wreaths and other floral displays.

Hardy and relatively low maintenance once established, Statice prefers full sun and free-draining soil and develops good tolerance to dry conditions. It is well suited to cottage gardens, perennial borders and dedicated cutting gardens.

Seed count: approximately 1,400 seeds/g
Approximately 150 seeds per packet

When to Plant (Australia)

Tropics: Autumn to winter in cooler locations
Subtropics: Autumn to spring
Mild climates: Autumn and spring
Cold climates: Spring after frost

Planting / Sowing

Sow into trays or pots, covering seed only lightly with seed-raising mix. Keep moist during germination but avoid waterlogging.

Transplant once seedlings are well established, spacing approximately 30–40 cm apart in full sun and well-drained soil. For dried flowers, harvest stems once the flowers are well developed and hang upside down in a dry, well-ventilated position.

Due to quarantine restrictions, TAS has an 800g limit per each seed variety and WA has a 10,000 seeds limit per variety.
